Discovery Exchange is built around four moves — post, match, agree, build. Each step protects identity, recognises contribution and reduces the friction of forming a multi-disciplinary research team.
1. Post your project — anonymously
Uploaders submit a project brief: what they’re trying to discover, what role(s) they need filled (expertise, funding, resources), proposed milestones and the IP share they’re offering.
- Your name, institution and contact details are hidden from joiners.
- An algorithmic summary makes the project discoverable while keeping identifying details private.
- You can edit, pause or withdraw at any time before agreement.
2. Joiners apply — fully identified
Verified joiners (experts, funders, resource holders) browse open projects and submit applications.
- Joiners present full credentials, affiliations and what they bring to the project.
- Uploaders see complete profiles; joiners do not see the uploader.
- Match suggestions are powered by ChordexBio’s matching algorithms.
3. Shortlist and agree
The uploader shortlists applicants and proposes a team composition. The platform helps draft a shared IP/patent/rights agreement that allocates entitlements based on declared contribution.
- Identity reveal happens at the moment of mutual acceptance.
- The agreement is signed inside the platform with timestamped audit trail.
- Notifications inform applicants of the outcome — accepted, on hold or declined.
4. Build the discovery
Once the team is formed, the project moves into a private workspace where milestones, contributions and outputs are tracked.
- Records can be exported for grant or filing purposes.
- Members may invite additional contributors under the same IP framework.
- Outcomes (publications, patents, products) are linked back to the original team.
